Teaching dance is what we do. Inspiring children is who we are.
Located in Riverstone, DIS DANCE provides inclusive and inspiring dance classes for students ranging from age two to adult. As well as introducing your child to the fun and excitement of dance, we share an exclusive wellness program called Fitmindz for Kids. Included as part of every class, this reminds students that the most important thing about learning to dance is feeling happy and confident.
At DIS DANCE, you’ll notice we encourage kids to be kids. We have a no midriff policy on costumes and uniforms. Our instructors take the time to choreograph and teach age-appropriate routines that are fresh and fun.
Introduce your child to a world of confidence at DIS DANCE.
Our core values are like no other
- Inclusive – All our instructors have a strong focus on teamwork and ensuring everyone feels part of the family
- Continuous Improvement – We are dedicated to always being better than we were yesterday
- Modesty and Age Appropriateness – Making sure kids are covered and confident while still being able to express themselves is our number one priority.
- Positive and inspiring – We teach a positive psychology program called Fitmindz 4 Kids in all our classes. This aims to uplift and inspire students.
- Respect and Appreciation – We respect and appreciate all our families and are grateful they are part of the DIS DANCE family.

Case Study
Indigo
Indigo began dancing around the house at 2 years old! She always loved an audience and had fun performing for her family and friends! At age 3 she began dance classes (Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatics as well as a troupe in Kindergarten.) She found her “home” at DIS Dance in 2018.
Indi thoroughly enjoys her dance classes. DIS is her happy place! She has made some wonderful friends and feels encouraged by her teachers. She particularly enjoys being in Performance Crew!
Indigo has become a very confident and happy dancer. She has great commitment to her classes and comes home feeling happy and excited! She responds well to positive re-enforcement and being encouraged by her teachers to do her best.
I highly recommend DIS to anyone looking for a less competitive environment that not only fosters their child’s love of dance but for anyone who is also looking for a studio that fosters the whole child. I am particularly fond of the Fitmindz program, as well as the fantastic studio values. I also love how inclusive DIS is and how all students get a chance to shine! I appreciate that the focus is on developing beautiful humans! We love DIS!

Isabella
Before DIS Dance Bella would get upset and would want me with her. We tried to get her to do dancing before she started school and she cried the whole time. She didn’t want us to leave and freaked out when she could not see us. We decided to not start again until she was in Year 1. Bella would have anxiety about being in the spotlight and didn’t like all eyes on her. This is something that we wanted to work on. It has taken us a long time to get her where she is today and sometimes her anxiety creeps back in and we have to work through it. When we started at DIS she would get upset at the start of class and I would have to stay outside for the whole lesson (she did two classes).
Bella now does 6 classes at DIS over two days. I can drop her at the front door and she gets picked up at the end of her lessons. 1 day it’s 3 hours and the other is 2 hours. She is always happy to go to dancing, she has made great friends and loves doing all the extra things that DIS has to offer.
Bella has become more confident in her dancing and is willing to try new things. She has even discussed wanting to be in the Performance Crew, something that she would never have even thought about three years ago. There are still some times that her anxiety is evident but Mrs Adams and the other teachers have given her some tools to help her manage and not let this take control of her. Choosing DIS Dance for Bella has made her realise that you need both a healthy mind and body, something other dance schools don’t discuss. I honestly don’t think Bella would have blossomed the way she has at other dance schools.
DIS Dance is a great dance school because it is not just a dance school, it is like a family. The programs that they run are helpful to young people and it allows them to focus on issues like mental health and well-being as well as dancing. They consider the needs of their students and their families. I would not hesitate to recommend DIS Dance to anyone.
