Why should I choose DIS DANCE?

There are many dance schools in our local area but families who send their children to us always remark that they finish every lesson smiling.

Positive body image is a huge priority for us and we also encourage children to act and dress their age. This means no midriff tops, and age-appropriate routines in performance and competition.

We take the time to encourage and foster a community environment where everyone feels included and has their turn at being front and centre.

Does my child have to perform in the concert?

No, but most students do. All classes have a half yearly and end of year performance that the students work towards.

Is it compulsory to wear the DIS DANCE uniform?

We ask that your child wears a DIS DANCE singlet, shirt or leotard to classes and black pants/shorts/tights. Optional uniform extras are also available for sale!

Do children take exams?

We proudly provide examinations for Ballet and Tap through the Australian Teachers of Dancing Syllabus in Term 3 every year. These are optional for the students to work towards.

How many students are in each class?

Our standard student to teacher ratio is 15:1. That means that if there are more than 15 students in a class, a trained assistant teacher will also be in the studio. Sometimes our smaller classes will also have a trained assistant teacher, depending on the age group and style.

Do students at DIS DANCE enter competitions and eisteddfods?

Although we rehearse routines to enter in the occasional eisteddfod, our focus is on performances and examinations.

How do you accept payment?

You can pay your fees through the parent portal at the start of every term via Paypal or credit card OR you can let us deduct your term payment in 3 smaller payments in Week 1, 5 and 9 of term.

Where is your End of Year Concert?

Students prepare to perform in our annual performance at The Lighthouse Theatre Penrith Anglican College, which is only 25 minutes drive from our Studio. It is the highlight of our calendar and we love to show you what the children have been working on.

What happens if I move away?

If you move away from the area and our studio can no longer reasonably be accessed by you, we will refund the remainder of your term fees. Please note that a cancellation fee of 4 weeks of fees will apply.

What if my child or I am injured and cannot attend classes?

Unfortunately term fees are non-refundable in the case of injury. We welcome injured students to watch class so they can continue to learn.

Can I pay for casual classes?

We do not offer casual classes for school-aged students. Adults can come to drop-in classes for a cost of $20 per lesson. Contact us to find out more.

What is the cancellation policy should I need to cancel?

We have a no-hassle cancellation policy. Simply email admin@disdance.com.au to complete the member cancellation form to request your membership be cancelled for the upcoming school term. No further payments will be taken. Please allow 14 days for your cancellation to be processed.
